“Meditation”, this is a discipline and is described as an art where our mind concentrates on one thought and generally involves paying attention to a single point of reference. In concentration meditation, the important point to understand is this meditation can be easily practiced by sitting silently and paying attention on the breath. This is because as you try to concentrate your awareness on your breath, your state of mind gets synchronized in the rhythm or pulse of inhalation and exhalation. As a result, as your inhalation becomes slower, your mind starts becoming more relaxing and conscious. Looking at the present scenario, meditation is gaining its recognition at a rapid pace in medical science. Though the use or art of contemplation and concentration is not new, but today its acceptance is spreading all across the globe. Recent studies have shown that mediation can further help in bringing a healthy state of relaxation. Meditating on every day basis further helps in reducing strain and this further result in reducing their blood pressure.
